Hosted by: Potomacalliance.4kerry.com

When: Tuesday, August 17, 2004. 1:30 pm - Until

To Gather With Local Democrats:

From the Desk of Michael Day:

President Bush is coming to West Virginia TUESDAY AUG. 17TH--and we'd like to give him a big ole Democratic welcome.

He will be at Hedgesville High School, in Hedgesville, WV and we will be right across the street at the L. Howard Dillon Farm Museum. The museum sits atop a hill overlooking the school, and has a lovely grassy slope down to the road. To get there follow the directions and the map I have posted on this website:http://potomacalliance.4kerry.com/?q=node/view/169. There are rumors that at some point during the day, police will close down Route 9, so I have provided an alternate set of directions also.

Busses of Bush supporters will be arriving between 2:00 and 5:00, so we want to get there around 1:30. Bush himself is not expected until 6:15. This really will be a long wave goodbye, so bring chairs, water, food and whatever else you will need. There are two portapots located at the ball field next door.

We will have a number of rally signs and handmade signs for you to use, but if you have your own already, please bring it. The Charleston Gazette wll be sending a photographer to cover the Long Wave Goodbye, so look nice, wave your signs, and bring a lot of your friends. See you there!

What to bring

Bring chairs, water, food and whatever else you will need. This is a rural area, and there are no convenience stores within easy walking distance. You will have to bring whatever you need with you. There are two portapots located at the ball field next door.

A number of rally signs and handmade signs will be available for you to use, but if you have your own already, please bring it. The Charleston Gazette will be sending a photographer to cover the Long Wave Goodbye, so look nice, wave your signs, and bring a lot of your friends.

****If you are not familiar with the area, please print and take a map with you. Take Interstate 81 to Exit 16W, Route 9. Drive 2.7 miles to Ridge Road and turn left to "the wave".

There are rumors that at some point during the day, police will close down Route 9. If Route 9 is closed, drive South on I-81 and take the next exit, Exit 14. This is a new exit and does not show up on the map. Turn right onto Dry Run Road and drive 1.7 miles. Turn right onto Ridge Road, and drive 3.2 miles to the wave.

Carpool if at all possible! Parking spaces will be at a premium. Only about
to 50 cars are expected to park at the museum before the use of an overflow parking 0.5 mile away will take over.

It is recommended that event go'ers fill their car with Kerry supporters before you coming.
